The government launches ATITHI Mobile App for Indian Customs to track and stop GST fraud. On 04th November 2019, the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated Two new IT initiatives – ICEDASH and ATITHI. These two initiatives will bring more transparency to customs to track GST and custom duty frauds. According to the new process, the international traveler can file an advance declaration online for bringing the dutiable items.
Further, the ICEASH will Ease Doing Business monitoring and Atithi will enable filing the online declaration. Thus, ICEDASH is a dashboard of the Indian Customs that will help the public to see the daily Customs clearance times of imported cargo. Learn more about the ATITHI app below.
The above initiatives will help to improve the monitoring and pace of Customs clearance of imported goods and facilitate arriving international passengers. Similarly, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman said, ATITHI Software will be a key driver to reduce the interface and increase the transparency of custom functioning.
What is ATITHI APP?
ATITHI App is an online custom declaration filing Application. This application is introduced by the Central board of direct and indirect Taxes( CBIC( ) . Therefore, this will be an easy way to use a mobile app for international travelers to file the Customs declaration on an advance basis.
The international Passenger can use this app to file a declaration of dutiable items and currency with the Indian Customs even before boarding the flight to India. Further, the ATITHI app is available on both, iOS and Android platforms to download and use.
