GST Council will discuss on cars and other regular consumables tomorrow in its 21st meet. It is known from the reliable sources that it is likely to be discussed on how much cess to be hiked on luxury and mid-size cars.
Further the GST council is also likely to consider lowering tax rates on more than dozen products, including idli/dosa batter, dried tamarind, custard powder and kitchen gas lighters after anomalies in their fixations were pointed out.
The GST council will also discuss on the mechanism to check the business opted for De-registering their product brands to avoid taxes after the roll-out of GST from 1st July 2017.
