28.03.2023: The last date to link your Aadhar Card with the PAN is extended till 30th June 2023 with a late of Rs. 1000/-. Thus, Aadhar pan card linking gets further extension till 30.06.2023. However, the Govt. has not waived the late of Rs. 1000/- for the linking process.
Since Aadhar pan link last date is extended, you can do the aadhar pan link process till the end of June 2023. However, do not wait until the last moment to do this process. This is because you may face server issues or other related issues.
From 1st July, 2023, the PAN Card of taxpayers who have failed to intimate their Aadhaar, as required, shall become inoperative and the consequences during the period that PAN remains inoperative will be as follows:
- No refund shall be made against such PANs;
- interest shall not be payable on such refund for the period during which PAN remains inoperative; and
- TDS and TCS shall be deducted /collected at a higher rate, as provided in the Act.
Further, Individuals who have been exempted from PAN-Aadhaar linking will not be liable for the consequences mentioned above. This category includes persons residing in specified states of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Meghalaya. Secondly, the non-residents by law, persons who are not citizens of India, or persons aged eighty years or more at any time during the previous year are exempted.
The Govt. has stated that more than 51 crore PANs have already been linked with Aadhaar till 28.03.2023. Thus, a PAN can be linked with Aadhaar by accessing the following link https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/bl-link-aadhaar .
