Error summary for filing is not generated or is not available at this time. please try again later. Many of you must have received this error after submitting a GST Return on the GST portal. Because of this error, you will not able to file your GST Return. So, here are the quick hacks that you must check on the GST portal.
The above error signifies that GST Portal is taking time to generate the summary of your data submitted recently. This normally happens due to overload on the server especially on the last day of filing. Therefore we suggest you check the status after few minutes of submitting your GST Return. Also, file your regular GST returns before the last due date to get rid of such errors in the future.

Hello GST Return Filers!
If you see an error message while filing GSTR I, such as ‘Error Preparing data for filing Please try again later,’ then please follow the steps below:
- Kindly save your form again by adding or updating invoices in Table 7
- Click on Generate summary followed by Proceed to file button
- Post validating the data, kindly file your returns.
The tax filers, who get these types of errors shall try the resolution recommended above by the GSTN team. It is also advised to check your mail inboxes, to see if you have received any specific message.
GSTR 1 Return filed on time but showing as submitted
If you come across this as yours status then you should read this before taking any further action. You may also experience that no Return Tiles appears on return dash board to file any return.
It is possible that your previous return filed may appear now as submitted because of which you will not able to see return tiles nor you will able to file any return for further period. you may check your previous return status by visiting http://www.gst.gov.in > Return > Track Return Status
We noticed that this is a GSTN System error. If you experience such error anytime then do not file the return again immediately because that may attract late filing penalty automatically from the system.
To sort out this error write an email to helpdesk@gst.gov.in giving the email received details, when you originally filed the return. Within 2-3 days the issue should get resolve. If it still does not get resolve and also if you do not receive any communication from help desk then kindly approach to the concerned superintendent of GST in your area.

After 24 hours I try it but same error shown.
kindly try clearing cookies and temporary files !
Normally this error appear for 5-15 minutes only.
after waiting of 12 hours i am still unable to file my GSTR1.

yes, that the reality because the server gets busy on the last day. The best thing you can do is that, do not wait for last day to file your GST returns. This will definitely help you in future..

Hi Balan, This seems the GST server is busy. You can only try after some time & avoid last day of filing till you don’t see this error again.
For Gstr1 I im uploaed json file with no error ( Proceed ) But All bills Not show in gst portal

You can raise a complain on GST portal about this error. Also, you may try generating json file again and check. kindly see if there is any specific pattern of missing bills. Similarly, it might be possible due to some data entry error but portal is not throwing error while processing it. Therefore, one must check the data before filing the return manually.

I have added data in B2B but after clicking on Generate summary it shows summary has been generated but nothing changes in summary of Outward supply tab. even after changing browser, Removing History/ catch file as recommended by GST customer care. i have lodged a complaint on potal yesterday still waiting for there response.
hello, If the data doesn’t changes, only GSTN can resolve it. You may try uploading the json file prepared in offline mode with correct data. This may resolve the issue.

I filed my complaint for Error! Signed summary is not the latest one to upload GSTR-1 for June-019 because of this I am not able to go in Amnesty and can file pending GSTR-9 for FY-2019-20. Since 22nd June till 27th June no help from portal for this.

if the issue does not get resolve in 24 hrs, Try generating JSON file from other software or by using the excel tool. because it is noted that if there is issue in the json file itself, the portal throws the error.
