06.05.2022: The GST portal is showing a login error today. The error is “Username and password entered by you has been updated and old credentials are not valid anymore. Please login using valid updated credentials“.
As soon as the user enters the username and password and hit the login button the system throws the above error. We would like to inform you that this is a system error and should get resolved within the due course of time.
Hence, do not initiate the process of forgetting your username and password. kindly wait and try login after some time.
It is to note that the GST System will be unavailable for a major system maintenance activity planned on 06th May’22 between 10:00 PM and 04:00 AM (07th May 22). Thus, the GST portal will be available for normal functioning after 4 AM onwards on 07.05.2022. You can also see the message flashing on the portal about this update.
21.01.2021: The GST portal is completely down today since morning. The exact cause of the problem is not known yet. However, it looks like the server crashed without having symptoms of failure in advance. Thus, the GST website address is not accessible to the world.
Further, it is not known how long the site will be down. Therefore, all services related to GST portal will be halted till the service resumes. If you have not yet filed your returns, check out here the last dates to file.

Facility to File Returns of 2017 Has been Restored
06.08.2020: The GSTN has restored the facility successfully to file, view, and download returns of the 2017 year. The taxpayers were facing errors while filing the previous period returns like GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B for FY 2017-18. Thus, the GSTN was working on the issue for more than a week. Therefore, now all the featured are restored, the taxpayer should not see any system errors. Here is the official today’s tweet from GSTN.
Earlier, the government has completely waived the late fees of GSTR 3B without tax Liability. However, Rs. 500/- per return needs to be paid if the return is with liability. This move will facilitate taxpayers to file their previous returns. However, the government has put the timeline till 30th September 2020 to file these GSTR 3B returns pending from July 2017 to January 2020.
GST Portal : Down For maintenance on 31st May 2019.
30-05-2019: GSTN will be enhancing services on the GST website on 31st May 2019 12:30 AM on wards. Thus, GST Portal services will not be available until 03:30 AM on 31st May 2019.
22-05-2019: GST portal not working: GST website was not working/down for some time during the midnight on 21st May 2019 due to maintenance. During this time system was not available to users to file their GST return or other related activities.
13-04-2019: Taxpayers are facing issues while login into GST portal today. However, there is no schedule maintenance reported. Here is the latest tweet from shekhar sharad

06-04-2019: GST System will be unavailable for disaster drill activity from 6th April (10.00PM) till 7th April (05.00AM). Therefore, during this time you will not able to perform any activity on GST website. Thus, you will not able to login on GST site.
However, you may able to access its help section, download offline utilities etc.

gst site is not working since morning . i m fed of this.
The GST Portal Home page is opened. But When I am intend to Login “this sight cannot be reached ” message opened.Till morning i.e., on 09.04.21 I try to file GSTR 3B as I choose quarterly filing. 13th is the last date to file GSTR-I. Please reply remedy to my problem.to enable to file returns in time.
